CHEUNG Fei got his PhD in Phenomenology in Freiburg, Germany, now a retired professor. Phenomenology is the study of how the world directly appears to us. Hence he has been applying phenomenology in photography for many years. Photographic seeing is phenomenological seeing. The most important thing of photography is to let the world (the phenomenon) appear from a special perspective of seeing. Based on this idea, he has published two photo-essay books.
